FUJI Heavy Industries Has Begun to Product The Subaru Xv Crossover SUV at TCMA in Malaysia

Subaru Canada, a subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries, has started production of the Subaru XV crossover SUV at its Tan Chong Motor Assemblies (TCMA) in Malaysia.

The concept of the vehicle was presented at the Indonesia International Motor Show in September 2012, and is started with initial the production plan of 5,300 units per year.

Cars manufactured at the TCMA plant will be sold in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia through the distribution channels of Tan Chong Group.

TCMA was found in 1974 and assembles automobiles for Japanese and European companies like Subaru since 1986.

The Subaru XV is powered by a 148hp 2.0-litre BOXER engine mated to an all-wheel drive through a five-speed manual transmission or the existing second-generation lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The crossover also features vehicle dynamics control (VDC) which combines stability and traction control functions.

The cars and its 4-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) incorporates Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and the Brake Assist safety system.
