Veeco Instruments,a process equipment solution provider for the production of wireless chips,MEMS,hard drives,power electronics,LEDs,and optoelectronics,has announced the participation of over 150 LED manufacturing customers at its metal organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD)User Meeting conducted in Tainan in Taiwan.

Amongst the participants were some of the top Taiwanese LED manufacturers,including FOREPI,Epistar,Huga Optotech,Genesis Photonics(GPI),Arima Optoelectronics,Epileds and Tekcore.
Invited speaker,Dr.Charles Li,who serves as Vice President of R&D at GPI,expressed his appreciation for the opportunity provided at the Veeco,s User Meeting to join forces with the company,s technology experts and to share ideas with major LED makers.Dr.Li's topic was'The Trend of LED Chips for Lighting,,in which he discussed the major drivers for LED commercialization in general lighting,specifically cost reduction which can be realized by improved high current LED chip technology.
The Vice President and Country Manager for Greater China at Veeco,Tim Liu expressed pleasure at the opportunity to interact with major LED manufacturers in Taiwan.The focus of the forum was on understanding the challenges faced by their customers in production and to provide cost effective solutions to improve yield and productivity.Veeco recently launched a new range of MOCVD systems based on its proven TurboDisc technology to promote global level adoption of LED lighting by lowering production costs.
