Have you felt the impact of the government shutdown on your business?

Since it started on Oct. 1, 2013, government offices have closed, federal workers have been idled and national parks and monuments are gated.

Is the shutdown hurting your business in any way? Is it hitting you in the wallet?

It certainly is affecting your customers.

“We have talked to a number of dealers that have said in these kinds of situations, consumers tend to put off necessary purchases and maintenance for their vehicles,” says TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.

“This, of course, will have a safety impact of worn tires on the road that are in need of replacement.”

The U.S. National Traffic and Highway Administration isn’t issuing any safety recalls.

The Small Business Administration isn’t taking applications for loans.
