Thomson Reuters Has Rolled out Cloud Software Provider Workday's HCM and Payroll Solution

Global media and information firm Thomson Reuters has rolled out cloud software provider Workday's Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll solution to enable staff to speed up their workforce management decision making.

Thomson Reuters replaced its global, on-premise system with Workday's cloud solution in June. The solution has been rolled out to about 60,000 employees across 100 countries.

The firm says that it selected Workday because of the cloud provider's approach to updates, and the way it improves its offerings with the help of customer participation and feedback.

"Thomson Reuters is committed to continually increasing the value that HR can infuse into the business and sees Workday as a natural partner for our success globally," said Sue Laskey-Myers, senior vice president of global HR solutions and service delivery at Thomson Reuters.

Thomson Reuters was involved in shaping how they wanted several applications to work, in collaboration with Workday, including Workday's Talent Management and Time Tracking apps.

Since deployment of the overall solution, more than 320,000 business processes and about 57,000 unique users have been recorded globally in Workday, the software provider said.

Thomson Reuters is hoping that the solution will improve visibility into the business, with real-time workforce analytics that more than 10,000 managers can tap into on tablets, smartphones and desktops. The analytics are displayed on dashboards to enable leaders to access a collection of more than 200 global workforce reports, covering such things as compensation, performance and attendance.

The media and information company also hopes the solution will help to: integrate talent and performance management with a global base of employee information that can be used for hiring and sourcing decisions; allow payroll managers to know early on in the process if they need to adjust incorrect information; improve standardisation of time and attendance of processing; and reduce demand on HR for ad-hoc requests and administrative support, freeing up their time to work better with business leaders.

"With Workday, our employees, managers, and executives have all of their information in one easy-to-access place for better, faster workforce management decisions across the world," Laskey-Myers, said.
