Solargiga PV Module Shipments Increase 78.8% in 2014

Solargiga Energy Holdings, a China-based maker of solar-grade crystalline silicon wafers and PV modules as well as a PV EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) contactor, shipped 514.8MWp of PV modules in 2014, hiking 78.8% on year, according to the company.

Solargiga expanded its annual PV module production capacity from 288MWp in 2013 to 600MWp in 2014 due to growing demand in the China and Japan markets. The company has offered 280W PV modules made of monocrystalline silicon solar cells.

For 2014 operations, Solargiga recorded consolidated revenues of CNY2.865 billion (US$465 million), up 33.2% on year; gross margin of 12.7%, up 5.7pp; and net profit of CNY171 million.

In addition to PV EPC contracts in China, Solargiga has set up a subsidiary in Germany to tap overseas markets of EPC business, including in Africa, East Europe and Southeast Asia.
