Engel to Exhibit Advanced Automation Solutions at Fakuma 2017

Engel is set to showcase its advanced automation solutions at this year’s Fakuma event in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The event will take place between 17 and 21 October.

At the event, the company will exhibit e-pic B and e-pic Z robots that are incorporated with expanded software functions, new viper 20 speed for high-speed medical and packaging applications, as well as new 10” hand-held touch terminal for robots.

The new e-pic robots can be combined with injection moulding machines to simplify activation and programming.

Engel is offering e-pic robots in two versions, including e-pic Z linear pick-and-place robots and e-pic B servo sprue pickers.

Featuring lightweight swivel, the e-pic series allows to reduce maintenance effort, in addition to enabling space-saving installation on the injection moulding machine.

The new e-pic robots are said to use the software to adapt the speed of their movements to the injection moulding process.

Engel’s new viper 20 speed, which features advanced servo-electric drive technology, can be used in the medical and packaging sectors.

It can work in tandem with the firm’s easix multi-axis robot to take the cups from a moving conveyor belt and stack them

In addition, the firm is exhibiting new 10” hand-held terminal C10 for robots in the Engel series, helping to replace the C70 series.

Engel Austria automation and peripherals division head Walter Aumayr said: “In an ongoing project, we are integrating nine robots of different types.

“Demand is rising for very complex automation cells to be used in highly integrated production processes.”
