Total installation capacity of rooftop and ground-mounted PV power-generating system set up in China in 2014 stood at 10.52GWp, increasing 13% on year but short of the target of 14GWp set in early 2014, China-based CBN Daily has cited China's National Energy Administration as indicating.
Cumulative PV installation capacity as of the end of 2014 increased to 26.52GWp, the paper said.
China imported nearly 100,000 tons of polysilicon in 2014, while local polysilicon makers had a total annual production capacity of 156,000 tons and total output of 132,000 tons, growing on year by nearly 57%. China-based polysilicon makers had gross margins of 20-30% in 2014.
According to the China Photovoltaic Industry Association, global PV installation capacity in 2015 will reach 50GWp, including 15GWp in China.
