LEGO Minecraft has scooped the Toy Fair 2015 Editor’s Choice Award.

The collection of LEGO sets based on the hit gaming property has been voted the Toy of the Show by the various media who visited London Toy Fair this past week.

LEGO Minecraft managed to secure the award this year, pipping the Corgi James Bond Aston Martin DB5 from Hornby to the post.

The LEGO set is now the second winner of the award since the category’s launch last year, when the accolade was given to the Sorgenfresser Worry Eaters from Schmidt and distributed in the UK by Coiledspring Games.

“We are really proud of Minecraft as it has been built on consumer demand. We asked consumers for their feedback to develop this range and we are delighted to have recognition of that effort with the Editor’s Choice Toy of the Show Award,” said Angie Tutt, brand director at LEGO.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all the journalists who attended Toy Fair’s media day and who took the time to vote in the Editor’s Choice Awards – it’s always interesting to see what product launched catches the eye of different visitors to Toy Fair,” added Natasha Crookes, director of communications at Toy Fair.
