AR Packaging to Acquire Majority Stake in Indonesia's Paper Packaging Firm Maju Jaya

Swedish firm AR Packaging Group has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Indonesian paper packaging firm PT Maju Jaya Sarana Grafika (MJSG) for undisclosed amount.

Maju Jaya provides services from design, prepress, production to finishing and delivery.

The company has two production sites in Bekasi near Jakarta, Java and in Semarang, central Java.

AR Packaging branded products COO Peter Aichhorn said: “We have worked very closely with the company in recent months and we are convinced that together we will be able to provide the best possible service to both our local and multi-national customers going forward.”

AR Packaging said that the acquisition of Maju Jaya marks an important step in the implemention of its expansion strategy outside of Europe.

Maju Jaya Sarana Grafika CEO Adrian Koesnendar said: “Becoming a member of AR Packaging will strengthen our commitment and capabilities to serve the customers in the best way.

“Access to new innovations and technologies enables us to compete on the global market.”

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

In January 2016, AR Packaging and Maju Jaya have signed partnership agreement to establish a cooperation in the manufacture, procurement, sale and marketing in Indonesia of packages made out of cardboard or other materials in combination with cardboard.

Employing 2300 employees at 17 manufacturing facilities, AR Packaging offers a wide range of packaging from carton board and flexible packaging to system solutions of material and machine.
