UK-based beverage manufacturer Fruitbroo, which was founded by the man behind the popular global tea brand Clipper, has launched in Australia its range of drinks made with fruit juices, herbs and spices. The drinks are designed to be enjoyed hot or cold.

The range, which made its debut at the Fine Foods Australia trade show in Sydney, where it won silver for 'Best new food service product' 2013, consists of 'Peach Pear and Honey', 'Apple Ginger and Spice', 'Blackberry Apple and Plum', 'Rhubarb Apple and Cinnamon', and 'Elderflower and Lime'.

The Company said its range is an alternative to tea or coffee, and is "caffeine-free, 100 per cent natural and only 15 calories per cup". Fruitbroo said the range had proven "a huge success and will open up a whole new category in the hot beverage sector". The Company said the product can be enjoyed hot or cold, used in baking or added to cocktails.

The Fruitbroo range was developed by Mike Brehme, who in 1984 founded the UK-based Clipper tea brand, which includes a variety of 'organic' and 'fairtrade' teas. After selling Clipper to a private equity firm in 2008, Mr Brehme developed the Fruitbroo range as a caffeine-free alternative to tea and coffee.

The range is available in 200ml and 500ml pump bottles. It is currently available online, but the Company said it is negotiating the sale of the product in cafes, bars, restaurants and supermarkets in 2014.
