Berlin Packaging to Acquire Italy's Bruni Glass

US-based Berlin Packaging has agreed to acquire Italy’s Bruni Glass to expand its presence in the European glass markets.

Bruni is engaged in providing glass packages for spirits, wine, food, and gourmet applications.

Upon completion of the deal scheduled within the next two months, Bruni’s team will work under the brand name of 'Bruni Glass, A Berlin Packaging Company'.

Bruni will also have access to Berlin’s complete line of packaging solutions, service divisions, and all the North American sales and warehouse locations.

Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.

The combined entity, which is expected to generate more than $1.2bn in sales by the end of 2016, will gain access to Berlin’s service divisions as well as more than 100 North American sales and warehouse locations.

Berlin Packaging chairman and CEO Andrew Berlin said: “Combining Berlin and Bruni is an important building block in our quest to be the strongest, broadest, and most customer-centric packaging supplier in the market.

“It not only strengthens our glass offerings and extends our reach to a global playing field, but it also aligns us with another company that shares our commitment to quality, our insistence on compelling package design, and our strong annual growth rate.”

Berlin serves the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal and household care, and industrial packaging sectors.
