The Lightweight Container Can Also Reduce Transport Costs

RPC Containers UKSC has collaborated with its products distributor Nexus Packaging to develop new lightweight 130g jerrycan for the transportation of hazardous products.

The new UN-approved free-standing, 5l can, which has been developed in response to customer demand, is produced in a special grade of polymer which provides better rigidity along with performance and resistance to stress cracking.

With an ability to withstand the stringent requirements of UN approved packaging, the lightweight container can also reduce transport costs.

Nexus Packaging director Mark Ferguson said there is confusion and fear within the chemical packaging industry over legislative requirements.

"The 130g 5 Litre UN free standing certificate enables UN requirements to be met using a standard 5 litre container and cap, while giving far more freedom in the choice and specification of outer packaging," Ferguson said.
