Volvo Is Aiming to Introduce 360° Technology to Reduce Risk of Injuries and Death

Volvo is aiming to introduce 360° technology to reduce the risk of injuries and death in case of a mishap.

The company is working on sensor fusion technologies that are being designed to provide a seamless 360° view around a car to show threatening objects that drivers won't be able to see.

By focusing on viable automotive sensors the company said that the project has taken a big step towards becoming a reality.

The company also has a new safety feature called manoeuvre generator which uses software to find out collision-free escape routes during traffic. The system will constantly analyze threats around the car, and also assist drivers with auto-braking and steering.

Non-Hit Car Project manager Anders Almevad said: "Volvo Cars is definitely on the front line when it comes to innovative active safety research and development.

"Our primary objective is to focus on preventing different types of accident scenarios. But going forward, we will also continue to work on developing cars that adapt to each individual driver's unique behavior."
