Proportion of LED Chips Used in LED Lighting Will Increase From 20% to About 25% in 2013

The proportion of LED chips used in LED lighting will increase from 20% in 2012 to about 25% in 2013, Taiwan-based LED makers cited statistics as indicating.

For LED light bulbs, average luminous efficiency is estimated to reach 77lm/W in 2013 and rise to 110lm/W in 2017, while average lumen-price ratio will stand at 42lm/US$ in 2013 and increase to 60lm/US$ in 2014, the makers said.

Global LED light bulb shipments will reach 1.254 billion units in 2014, hiking 84% on year and accounting for 9.7% of all lighting products, the makers indicated.
