MUNICH FABRIC START Are Counting on a Successful Kick-off Event in Munich

With a new attendance record – a never before seen 950 international exhibitors – the organisers of MUNICH FABRIC START are counting on a successful kick-off event for the 14/15 AUTUMN.WINTER season in Munich from 3-5 September 2013.

An exhibitor portfolio that’s 10% larger than last year’s, presenting the latest developments and innovations in fabrics and accessories on over 40,000 square meters of exhibit space, will await the arrival of approximately 20,000 international trade visitors.

“After VIEW Premium Selection with a high-calibre line-up providing an early preview of textile trends and developments in Munich on 10 and 11 July, we now look ahead with optimism to an exciting, promising AUTUMN.

WINTER 14/15 season and are delighted about the once again incredibly large interest and positive response,” says MUNICH FABRIC START Managing Director Wolfgang Klinder. Under the heading AWESEMBLAGE, a neologism derived from “AWEsome” and “asSEMBLAGE,” the season is synonymous with the awe-inspiring, the impressive and the great – like a recurring theme running throughout the season boasting great diversity and countless combination possibilities, almost like a collage.

A promising season lies ahead of us, captivating us with a wealth of silhouettes, clashing extremes and multi-faceted technology. The already very wide variety of past seasons is outperformed yet again by the incredibly creative fabrics on show here.

Interesting first-time exhibitors, as well as the attendance of the Marzotto Group with brands such as Marlane, Guabello, Tailla di Delfino, Ratti, Tessitura Monti and others, further enhance the high-quality portfolio of outer fabrics for the menswear segment.

At a strategically ideal and early point in time, MUNICH FABRIC START will offer, as usual, a comprehensive, well-segmented portfolio of carefully selected collections – with some 650 exhibitors in COLLECTIONS and more than 200 exhibitors in ADDITIONALS presenting their fabric and accessories innovations.

Further enhancing the event, Mare di Moda will be represented with a group of about 20 high-quality manufacturers of Italian beachwear and underwear. A special area in Hall 4 has been set aside for companies such as Clerici Tessuto, Miroglio, Ritex, Bellieni and others to present their beachwear and underwear fabrics and accessories.

With more than 100 selected exhibitors and interesting newcomers, ASIA SALON will present the trends from Asia. With quality being emphasised over quantity, the focus here will be on Chinese and Korean partner companies that have a solid market presence.

The Design Studios will again revolve around design themes and progressive ideas from all over the world. Once again, new exhibitors could be added to this area, eager to showcase their individual fabric creations and latest innovations.
