Italian New Car Sales Declined 17.6% Y-O-Y in January

Italian Anfia automotive industry association announced recently, Italian new car sales reached 113,525 vehicles in January this year, down 17.58% year on year compared to 137,745 vehicles in January, 2012.

Fiat Group Italian sales declined 15.8% year on year to 25,384 vehicles in January, and the sales were 40,507 vehicles in January last year.

In January this year, most car makers’ sales declined in Italian market. Audi sales decreased 13.58% year on year to 4,562 vehicles; BMW sales declined 10.46% year on year to 3,424 vehicles; Peugeot sales slashed 26.13% year on year to 4,862 vehicles; Citroen sales were down 19.48% year on year to 6,172 vehicles.

In January, the car brands which Italian sales grew were as follows: Opel sales grew 0.82% year on year to 6,551 vehicles; Mazda sales increased 43.48% year on year to 495 vehicles; Kia sales went up 30.31% year on year to 3,087 vehicles; Land Rover sales rose 1.07% year on year to 1,318 vehicles; Subaru sales were up to 152.8% year on year to 460 vehicles.
