Lakme Fashion Week Were Viewed by Global Audience

Regulars in the Indian fashion scene would not be strangers to the high level of innovative and enduringly thoughtful additions, season after season at Lakmé Fashion Week. In keeping with this spirit, IMG Reliance has tied up with TVN, the main commercial TV station in Poland and the presenter of the third season of ‘Top Model – BECOME A MODEL' (The Polish franchise of the popular America’s Next Top Model series), with a view to taking Lakmé Fashion Week to a wider, global audience.

This partnership will allow for an intriguing feature, displaying India’s premier fashion week on one of the world’s most sought after fashion reality shows. While Indian fans will get an exclusive glimpse of the yet to be aired third season of Polish ‘Top Model', viewers across the globe, especially those in Poland, will get a taste of the deep, complex and little understood Indian Fashion and glamour universe.

During the 3rd Season, two special episodes of ‘Top Model in Mumbai’ will be filmed with gorgeous Polish models. These models will participate in various challenging activities, including casting sessions, and later walk the ramp for designers Narendra Kumar, Asmita Marwa, Masaba and Shivan & Narresh at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013.

These models will also be part of special fitting sessions and the final showing at Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai. The four popular judges of 'Top Model', Katarzyna Sokolowska – Host and Model, Marcin Tyszka - Polish fashion photographer, Joanna Krupa – Supermodel and actress and Dawid Wolinski - Fashion designer, will be present, providing the benefit of their expertise to fashion week.

Commenting on the association, Mr. Saket Dhankar, Head-Fashion, IMG Reliance said, “We are very excited about partnering with TVN for an exclusive series in Mumbai. With this, we cover further ground in our continued efforts towards a bigger and better event; more importantly, this makes Indian fashion more accessible around the globe. We are certain not only that this will widen the network of Indian fashion stakeholders, but also that they will find LFW an increasingly convenient platform to develop business interests.”

Fashion TV, as a partner of Top Model program, will show the chosen designers in a special segment on FTV International. FTV representative Anna Neneman says: “We are very pleased to partner with Lakmé Fashion Week, a leader and pioneer in Indian fashion industry, to film a special episode for the third and upcoming season of Polish Top Model.

"LFW SR 2013 gives us an excellent representation of the best of the Indian Fashion Industry, which will provide a novel theme for our mini-series and allow for a refreshing change for our viewers. We also look forward to the interesting viewing to be made on Polish TV with our models and viewers in an unfamiliar environment.”
