Ssangyong Siv-1 Concept Have Been Released Ahead of The Stylish Crossover's Unveiling

Ssangyong SIV-1: Sleek Korean Concept Reveals New Design Language

Images of the Ssangyong SIV-1 concept have been released ahead of the stylish crossover’s unveiling at next month’s Geneva motor show.

Dubbed a “multi-interface mid-premium crossover utility vehicle”, the Ssangyong SIV-1 (Smart Interface Vehicle) showcases the latest evolution of the South Korean brand’s developing design language and previews the styling of a next-generation SUV.

Assertive LED-infused headlights flank a narrow hexagonal grille, and additional LEDs above the lower air intakes contribute to a simple and sophisticated front-end design.

Flared wheel arches, deep contours and a shallow glasshouse fill the SIV-1’s profile with character, while crisp LED tail-lights and a stylised rear bumper and diffuser round out a dynamic exterior design.

Ssangyong says the interior sports four bucket seats and a tech feature it calls a “mobile auto system”.

At 4500mm long, 1880mm wide and 1640mm tall, it’s 90mm longer, 50mm wider and 70mm lower than the compact Ssangyong Korando SUV.

The Ssangyong SIV-1 is the fourth SUV concept in 18 months from the resurgent Korean manufacturer, following the XIV-1 from the 2011 Frankfurt motor show, the XIV-2 from the last year’s Geneva show, and the e-XIV from Paris last September.

The SIV-1 concept will debut at Geneva on March 5.
