Symphony to Convert PIC's Normal Plastic Packaging Into D2w Biodegradable Plastic

Pakistan International Airways (PIA) has signed a three year agreement with Symphony’s distributor Business Dynamics for conversion of the airline's normal plastic packaging into d2w biodegradable plastic.

PIA, which is the first Airline in the world to convert all of their flexible plastics to d2w oxo-biodegradable technology, would now be certified as a green company in Pakistan by the country's Environmental Protection Agency as a zero pollution airline. This will reduce PIA's carbon footprint while leading to better waste management.

Director of Procurement & Logistics for PIA, Air Commodore Imran Akhtar signed the contract on behalf of PIA with Managing Director Business Dynamics Mr. Amir Younus at a ceremony held in Islamabad on 6 June 2016.

Michael Laurier, Chief Executive of Symphony said, "We are delighted that PIA have chosen to use d2w oxo-biodegradable plastic technology in their commitment to help protect the environment from accidental littering of plastic, and congratulate them in leading by example. This agreement marks the excellent work carried out in Pakistan by Mr Younus and the team at Business Dynamics, who are also engaged in many other exciting areas for both our d2w and d2p product ranges."
