Alpha Packaging Implemented InfinityQS ProFicient to Automate Data Collection

Alpha Packaging, a maker of bottles and jars for nutritional and pharma products, has implemented InfinityQS ProFicient to automate its data collection, quality control, and achieve full visibility across its manufacturing process.

The new real time SPC software has been added at its St Louis and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania plants, while scheduled deployments for the five remaining plants will be completed by end of 2013.

Alpha Packaging quality director Shane Jordan said that the InfinityQS ProFicient was recommended by many of its quality managers as the industry standard for real-time manufacturing intelligence.

"The ability to take action based on real-time data from our machines allows us to be more proactive about quality and prevent any potential downstream problems with the bottles even after production," Jordan added.

Leveraging the new tool, the packaging major will generate appropriate data to maintain quality expected by the pharmaceutical industry for high-density polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polylactide (PLA) bottles and jars.

The company is considering integrating InfinityQS ProFicient into its existing quality assurance programs, as well as with IT systems to achieve full visibility across the enterprise.

Implementation of the technology across all the plants will produce reliable and consistent data and thus create a complete picture of operations, as each plant operates differently.
