Weener Plastics Buys Brazilian Firm Orange Products Plasticos

Netherlands-based Weener Plastics has acquired Brazilian firm Orange Products Plasticos (OPB) for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Santo Amaro da Imperatriz of Santa Catarina, the OPB manufactures Roll-on Balls for deodorants.

The company has been offering services for various A-brands and local brand since last six years.

Weener has acquired OPB from its current shareholders Orange Products Inc (OPI) and C-Pack.

Orange Products CEO Paul Sachdev said: "Although OPB enjoyed our customers' support and confidence since 2011, the operation was never able to expand beyond the manufacture of plastic roll-on balls.

“The acquisition by WP will allow OP Brazil to grow its product line and customer base into new markets.”

Weener Plastics offers plastic packaging solutions for its customers. The company is engaged in the designing, developing and manufacturing of caps and closures, roll-on balls and packaging, jars and bottles for the personal care, food and beverage, as well as home care markets.

Weener produces dispensing closures for food sector and personal care, as well as dispensing closures for tubes.

The company also produces nutrition caps and scoops for infant nutrition, as well as over caps and spray caps for aerosols. In addition, Weener produces jars and lids for personal care applications.

In 2015, UK-based 3i Group acquired ownership stake in Weener Plastic Packaging Group for €250m.

With around 2,000 staff, the company has production units at 24 locations across 15 countries.
