Japanese Shipbuilders Gain More Orders Recently Due to Depreciated Japanese Yen

It’s reported that the Japanese shipbuilders gained more orders recently due to depreciated Japanese Yen. According to data released by Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese shipbuilders’ received order volumes for new ships totaled 1.26 million dead weight tons in April, jumping by 145% year on year. It’s known that the Japanese shipbuilders have started the price negotiation for heavy plates with steelmakers recently. It’s said that the steelmakers have sought to raise prices but the price rise is rejected by shipbuilders.
