Indian Motor Vehicle Production Increased by 10.35 Percent Year on Year to 1,861,849 Units

In April this year, Indian motor vehicle production increased by 10.35 percent year on year to 1,861,849 units, due to the growth in two wheelers production, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

In April, which is the first month of the current Indian fiscal year, passenger vehicle sales in India decreased by 9.50 percent, while the commercial vehicles segment registered a fall of 24 percent in sales, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in April this year, India's total motor vehicle exports increased by 12.98 percent year on year. Passenger vehicle exports in the given month registered a year-on-year decrease of 0.95 percent, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 12.66 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
