The Tapes Have Been Designed for Use with Recycled Corrugated Boxes

Adhesive technologies provider 3M has announced the expansion of its Scotch Recycled Corrugate Tape line with the addition of an industrial packaging tape, 3072.

3M US marketing manager Brian Kenady said companies are looking for new ways to reduce their costs and improve environmental footprint owing to changing environmental standards.

"3M's recycled corrugate tape 3072 is continuing the tradition of this tape portfolio by making manufacturers' jobs easier and helping them to keep pace with industry changes," Kenady said.

Formulated for sealing boxes including packaging applications, the Scotch recycled corrugate tape 3072 has a pressure sensitive, hot melt synthetic rubber adhesive system and meets FDA requirements for indirect food contact.

It comprises a backing that offers a secure and durable closure and provides consistent performance.

The Recycled Corrugate Tape products of 3M can be applied by hand for low volume packaging using a hand-held tape dispenser or with a 3M-Matic Case Sealer for packing.

According to the company, the tapes have been designed for use with recycled corrugated boxes and are stickier compared to conventional box sealing tapes.
