Gerresheimer to Present Pharmaceutical Packaging Products at Cphi in India

Primary packaging products firm Gerresheimer is to present new glass and plastic pharmaceutical packaging products at Convention for Pharmaceutical Ingredients (CPhI) in India.

The products to be presented at the event will include eye drop bottles that are tailored for the Indian market by Triveni Polymers, in which Gerresheimer is a majority shareholder.

Made out of either LDPE or HDPE, the eye drop bottles will be available in sizes of 5 and 10ml.

Triveni Polymers is showcasing ophthalmic medication bottles for the first time for Indian market as it recently added ophthalmic product range to its existing portfolio for solid dose pharmaceuticals.

Gerresheimer managing director at Triveni Polymers Subodh Gupta said: "Conjunctivitis is a very widespread affliction of the eye that can often be very effectively treated with eye drops."

The glass pharmaceutical packaging products from Neutral Glass, also majority owned by Gerresheimer, have been in use for a long time.

Neutral Glass' type I and type III bottles include injection, dropper and syrup bottles in diverse market and demand-oriented designs in flint and amber glass.

The production operations at Gerresheimer, Triveni Polymers and Neutral Glass are compliant with stringent quality standards that meet the pharmaceutical industry's very high requirements of quality, the company claims.

Gerresheimer acquired majority stakes in Triveni and Neutral Glass & Allied Industries as India is its a key growth market.

Since then, Triveni and Neutral Glass have been representing Gerresheimer's pharmaceutical plastic and glass packaging capability in India and the Asian region.

The packaging products made by Gerresheimer, Triveni Polymers and Neutral Glass are claimed to keep solid and liquid dose pharmaceuticals dry and securely packaged until they are used up. These products can be seen in medicine cabinets of every hospital, medical center and private household.
