Increased Consumer Demand Results in Rebrand for Luxury Homeware Brand

A luxury homeware, interior accessories and gifts brand has undergone a complete rebrand to take the business to the next level following increased demand for high quality leather and cowhide products.

Howat & Hutchinson, previously known as Leather & Lavender, started out as a hobby for then PR manager Sallyanne Hutchinson, who would sell luxury leather goods at Christmas fairs. Former BBC journalist Jo Howat, who also shares a love of quality interiors, recognised the demand for such products and entered into a business relationship with her childhood friend. The partnership has taken the company from a hobby to a fully-fledged business and has continued to go from strength-to-strength since 2004.

The rebrand is reflective of a new chapter for the business, following a period of rapid growth and increased demand from independent retailers and consumers looking for beautiful yet practical leather and cowhide homeware, storage solutions, gifts and desk accessories.

Speaking about the rebrand, co-owner of Howat & Hutchinson, Sallyanne Hutchinson, says: “Both Jo and myself are passionate about interiors, particularly homeware accessories, and we’ve worked hard to develop a portfolio of luxurious products, through Leather & Lavender, that are the perfect addition to any home or office environment.

“We recognised the need to offer consumers an elevated purchasing experience, so we decided to rebrand the company as a catalyst to drive the business forward over the coming months.”

Sallyanne and Jo design a selection of the Howat & Hutchinson products themselves from start to finish, from developing the product concepts to selecting the finest leather and cowhide that the products will be made from.

As part of the rebrand and to accelerate sales further, Sallyanne and Jo have unveiled a new-look e-commerce website, which offers visitors a heightened user experience, with easy-to-navigate products pages and quick and easy purchasing functionality.
