Pharmacy Automation Technology Helps Pharmacists Improve Patient Adherence and Health Outc

Pharmacy automation technology provider Parata Systems will introduce its PASS ((Patient Adherence Strip System) Pack strip packaging, which helps pharmacists improve patient adherence and health outcomes.

According to the company, PASS packages medications into a strip of unit or multi-dose bags, organized according to the date and time of day.

The packaging, which promotes adherence, can be used in any setting from summer school for kids to at-home care and assisted living for adults.

Parata Systems CEO Tom Rhoads said healthcare providers must take on an active role to ensure patients stay healthy as additional healthcare reform provisions take effect over the next two years.

"We've seen pharmacists improve patient adherence by pairing our technology with smart strategies for medication management," Rhoads said.
