Guardian Industries Marked China Glass 2013 Attracted More Than 130 Customers

Guardian Industries marked China Glass 2013 with the launch of its Asia Pacific website in an event that attracted more than 130 customers representing 16 countries from throughout the region.

The new website was launched in English with Chinese and Thai versions planned for the coming months. The new site is a regional expression of the global www.guardian.com/asiapacific , with comprehensive customized content about the products, projects and services that Guardian offers in the fast growing Asia Pacific region. China Glass is Asia’s largest glass exhibition, held this year in Beijing over the past weekend, and in Shanghai on alternate years.

"We are always busy at China Glass with customer meetings and presentations and discussions about implementing regional projects," said Bibekananda Maiti, Guardian's Asia Pacific sales director. "This year we took another step in our commitment to the Asia Pacific region by providing our customers with information and resources that they can use on a daily basis."

Glass fabricators, industry consultants and business collaborators from throughout Asia Pacific attended the Guardian event on day three of China Glass, with representation from Australia to India, Malaysia to South Korea and many countries in between. Additional attendees represented the Middle East, Europe and the U.S. Guardian Asia Pacific architectural sales director, Daniel Plotnick, and regional sales director for Greater China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Keith Tsang, welcomed the attendees in English and Chinese and announced the features of the new site.

"We have continued to participate in the region's robust growth with our new products and projects but haven't taken the time to catch our breath and capture the breadth of our activities," Plotnick said. "This site does just that -- and gives our customers the technical and product information they need -- and other visitors the vision and scope they are searching for. Already we have been told by our beta users that the site is a valuable business tool."

Tsang agreed and talked about rapidly expanding the regional languages and highlighting additional projects that are in the pipeline. "Although English is a leading language of business and technology -- and we were eager to provide customers with more technical data -- we are quickly moving toward Thai and Chinese versions," he explained. “This is even more important as we implement new glass solutions for installation within the region.”

Guardian operates 28 float lines around the world including two plants in Thailand. It also supports the Asia Pacific region from four plants in India and the Middle East, including an advanced technology coater, as well as additional assets in Europe and North America.
