Corsair Demonstrates a New Addition to The Drivers for Its RGB Backlit Gaming Keyboard

Corsair RGB Keyboard Update to Bring Game-Reactive Backlighting

Corsair has demonstrated a new addition to the drivers for its RGB backlit gaming keyboards, making them able to react to feedback from games.

The idea is the keyboard could use the 16.5million colours of each key to show things like your health status, hit areas or the need to reload.

Currently only in testing phase, Corsair was only able to demonstrate the tech with the 16 year old game Quake III Arena. However there's no reason other games couldn't use the technology.

It would be compatible with Corsair's full range of RGB keyboards, such as the Corsair Gaming K70 RGB, which use the new Cherry MX RGB switches.

Corsair is also working on improving the ease of use of the software used to program the backlighting on its keyboards. When we reviewed the K70 RGB we were among many that found the software confusing and difficult to learn.

Expect both new free updates to the Corsair driver to arrive in the next couple of months.
