I Holland to Exhibit New Tablet Tool Coating at Interphex Japan Event

I Holland is set to exhibit new PharmaCote ECxtra tablet tool coating at this year’s Interphex Japan event, which is scheduled to be held from 28 to 30 June.

The new tool coating has been developed to protect tablet punches from different manufacturing problems such as wear and corrosion, as well as formulation sticking issues.

PharmaCote ECxtra will enable to minimise the issues that are encountered with the usage of common tooling form called hard chromium.

Some amount of hydrogen penetrates the substrate when hard chromium is applied to tooling, resulting in the decrease of steel’s working load by up to 20%.

At the event, the company will also showcase other products such as IH-TMS tool management system that helps in the proactive monitoring of tool rotations, tooling inventory and maintenance.

The firm’s 21-CFR part 11 compliant system will help to maintain complete audit trail and record of tablet quantities by number of tablets and work order or batch information.

In addition, the firm will exhibit its current range of multi-tips and PharmaCote treatments and coatings.

I Holland marketing manager Alex Bunting said: “We are looking forward to receiving feedback from visitors to the show and explaining the benefits of this advanced coating.

“It is not only beneficial in production with many major issues like sticking being addressed, but unlike traditional hard chromium, the most commonly used tooling form, it is applied by an advanced spluttering method, rather than electro-plating.”
