NAS Will Supply Stainless Steel Reinforcing Bars for Canadian Transport Project

The Spanish stainless steel producer Acerinox has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary North American Stainless (NAS) will supply stainless steel reinforcing bars worth $18 million for the largest transport infrastructure project in Alberta, Canada.

The North East Anthony Henday Drive Project (NEAHD) carried out with a budget of $1.7 billion is scheduled for completion by fall 2016.

According to Acerinox, this transport infrastructure project is a clear example of the growing American trend of using stainless steel in large infrastructures associated with marine and corrosive environments. Using stainless steel enables both an increase in the life of the work and a greater reduction in long-term costs associated with the entire project.
