Barcelona, Spain — Lenovo unveiled its Yoga 10-inch HD+ Android tablet, a trio of quad-core Android smartphones, and a family of DoIt Android apps intended to protect and manage data.

The Android 4.3 Yoga 10 HD+ multimode tablet will be available from major U.S. retailers as a Wi-Fi-only model at $349. A version with 3G W-CDMA voice and data will be available outside the U.S.

Lenovo launched its first Yoga multimode Android tablets last October in the U.S. in 8- and 10-inch versions at a suggested $249 and $299.

Like its predecessor, the new 10.1-inch Yoga tablet features multimode positioning. A cylindrical battery enables a back panel to rotate to provide better viewing angles and for using its virtual keyboard at a more comfortable angle.

Key tablet features include Android 4.3, planned over-the-air Android 4.4 update, Qualcomm quad-core 1.6GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB embedded memory, and 64GB MicroSD card slot. Its 10-point multi-touch display features 178-degree viewing angle and automatic adjustment of images and text to ambient light.

The tablet also features dual speakers, Dolby audio suite of sound-enhancing technologies, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and 8-megapixel rear camera. Like its predecessor, it delivers up to 18 hours of battery life based on two hours of video playback, two hours of MP3 audio playback , two hours of Wi-Fi Internet browsing in tilt mode, and 12 hours of reading when the tablet is in hold mode.

In smartphones, three new models in the S series are 3G HSPA+ models, all with MediaTek 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, Android 4.2, and select DoIt apps. They also feature dual SIMs and dual cameras.

The Lenovo S860, S850 and S660 start at $349, $269 and $229, respectively, and will be available in select markets and Lenovo.com in June.

The company declined to say whether these phones will come to the U.S., but a spokesman noted, “Lenovo has been clear that we intend to begin selling Lenovo smartphones in several mature market countries in a phased rollout over the next two years. While we have not named any specific countries, our intention is to sell smartphones in both Western Europe and North America, where we have already established a strong brand in PCs and tablets.”

The S860 smartphone is targeted to mobile professionals needing all-day battery life, while the S850 is positioned as a slim feature-packed device targeted to fashion-conscious and socially connected consumers, thanks in part to its camera capabilities. The S660 is positioned as a “well-rounded smartphone.”

The S860 features a 5.3-inch 720p HD screen, 2GB RAM, 16GB memory, standby time of up to 40 days, and talk time of up to 24 hours on a 3G connection. The S860’s high-capacity battery lets users charge other devices via included MicroUSB cable. It also features Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED flash, and 1.5-megapixel front camera.

The S850 features 5-inch 720p display,1GB RAM, 16GB memory, 802.11 b/g/n, FM radio, 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus and flash, and 5-megapixel fixed-focus wide-angle front camera.

The S660 features 4.7-inch qHD 960 by 540 display, 1GB RAM, 8GB embedded memory, 32GB MicroSD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED flash, and 0.3-megapixel front camera.

The phones come with select DoIt apps. The tablet comes with four DoIt apps. They include the ShareIt app, which lets users wirelessly share pictures, videos, music files, documents, contacts and apps with up to five devices. SecureIt protects against viruses, spam and malware, and if the tablet is lost or stolen, anti-theft protection locks it down. SecureIt also blocks access to users’ private information. SyncIt backs up contacts, text messages and call logs in the Cloud. Users can reload the content to their tablet or another Android device.

SnapIt is a camera app that lets users shoot in specific modes, such as panorama or burst mode, for taking wide-angle shots, shots in low-light situations, and the like. It also offers special filters and effects. Users can edit photos right inside the app, remove unwanted objects, and create animated GIF files.

The ShareIt app comes preloaded on all new Lenovo Android tablets and smartphones and is also available for free download. SyncIt and SecureIt come preloaded on all new Lenovo Android smartphones and select tablets and is also available for free download. SyncIt is available for all brands of smartphones and tablets. SecureIt is available for Lenovo smartphones and select tablets as well as for non-Lenovo devices. SnapIt Camera and SeeIt Gallery are available preloaded on selected Lenovo tablets and smartphones. SeeIt uses facial recognition to automatically categorize photos into folders and includes one-touch filters and effects.
