A Variety of Manufacturers Plan to Attend The WFSGI

A variety of manufacturers, including a number of bicycle companies, plan to attend the World Federation of Sporting Goods' (WFSGI) Future of Manufacturing-a two-day conference in Taipei.

Simone Ramsauer, the organization's public relations manager, told BRAIN that representatives from DT Swiss, Cervelo, BMC, Cycling Sports Group, 3T and Orbea have registered and more are expected.

The conference, set for Dec. 2-3 at Taipei's International Convention Center adjacent to the Grand Hyatt, will feature speakers from New Balance, Porsche Consulting, Apache Footwear as well as key academics who study global manufacturing. Kah Fai Leong, a professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, will discuss 3D printing technology and future areas for its growth in sporting goods.

Other speakers will cover topics such as environmental sustainability, manufacturing and design, future trends in global manufacturing as well as changes in the global economic environment.

"Our audience will have the unique opportunity to explore and analyze value exchanges across their networks from a multi-stakeholder perspective," said Robert de Kock, the WFSGI's secretary general.
