Spanish Car Sales Declined 9.6% Y-O-Y in January

Spanish ANFAC announced recently, since national sales declined 13.4% year on year in 2012, Spanish car market didn’t change the trend of gliding in January, 2013, and new car sales decreased 9.6% year on year.

In January of 2013, Spanish car sales reached 49,671 vehicles, down 9.6% compared to 54,961 vehicles in January last year, and the drop range was lower than 23% of December last year.

In January of 2013, the best seller in Spanish car market was Siaat, which sales were 4,124 vehicles in January, up 15.6% compared to 3,569 vehicles of the same period last year. Volkswagen brand sales were 3,726 vehicles, declined 20.4% year on year, ranked the second place. Opel ranked the third place, which sales were 3,628 vehicles, increased 7.4% compared to the same period last year.

In addition, Dacia brand Spanish sales were 2,271 vehicles in January, up 100.6% year on year, which sales were 1,132 vehicles last year. BMW brand sales also achieved double-digit growth and were 2,718 vehicles, with an increase of 20.4% compared to 2,258 vehicles of the same period last year.
