Kodak's Products for The Packaging Market Include The Digital Prosper Press

Chief executive Antonio Perez said that the company had been "revitalised by its transformation" and its restructure has resulted in Kodak being "leaner, with a strong capital structure, a healthy balance sheet and the industry's best technology".

Kodak's products for the packaging market include the digital Prosper press and its flexo platemaking system, the Flexcel NX.

Perez added that Kodak is developing further additions to its packaging portfolio with more details expected soon on a major OEM partnership.

"The segment is going through a very, very important transformation," said Perez. "Variable data and customisation have improved dramatically. They've helped reduce waste. Smart packaging is the next application. You can add dynamic features such as changing writing when you touch the package. Print sensors or other types of components will add value to the package."

According to Kodak, the company completed the final steps in its Chapter 11 restructuring. It sold off its personalised imaging and document imaging businesses to the Kodak UK Pension Plan.

"We are setting a trajectory for profitable growth," said Perez. "We have the right technology at the right time as printing markets increasingly transition to digital. Our broad portfolio of offset, hybrid and digital solutions enables customers to make the transition at their chosen pace using our breakthrough technology solutions.

"We thank our employees for their extraordinary skills and commitment. We thank our suppliers for their dedication. We thank our customers and partners for their loyalty and for inspiring us to create disruptive technologies and breakthrough solutions."
