Canada's Archway Insurance Has Acquired SNC Insurance, Which Is One of Metro's brokerages

Atlantic Canada’s independently-owned brokerage Archway Insurance has acquired SNC Insurance, which is one of Metro’s premier brokerages, for an undisclosed amount.

Positioning Archway as a major brokerage in the Maritimes, the acquisition of SNC brings the total number of Archway locations to nine, covering from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada.

The acquirer has significantly boosted presence and market share across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick with the purchase of around 15 brokerages over the past decade.

Former SNC owner Carolyn James will temporarily remain with the company to assist during the management transition, while partner Stewart Hay will work as a consultant with Archway, providing continuity for clients, and sharing commercial expertise.

Archway president Garry Stack said although management has changed hands, Archway is committed to providing the same standards of service to SNC clients.

"As an independent brokerage we are pleased to provide both professional advice and choice when it comes to insurance," Stack added.

Based in Halifax, SNC offers insurance services for individuals, organizations, and entrepreneurs and has been serving clients in the Maritimes for more than 28 years.

The brokerage operated as K N Umlah Insurance Agency Limited prior to 2006.
