Creative Edge Software to Release Latest Version of iC3D at Labelexpo Europe

Creative Edge Software plans to launch the iC3D v5.0 packaging design software at this month’s Labelexpo Europe label event in Brussels.

In version 5.0 of iC3D, five major new features have been added by the software firm to expand the usability and flexibility of the packaging design software.

The upgraded packaging software targets designers seeking high-end capabilities that are traditionally available only from specialist 3D design software, said the company.

The five major features are Point Editor, UVW Editor, Physics Simulator, Sealed Shrink and Advanced Shape Modeller.

According to Creative Edge, features like Point Editor and UVW Editor gives iC3D v5.0 the ability to chose points on a 3D model, edit shapes, carry out distortions and surface effects, and modify visually adjusting artwork. All these, it says help in enhancing the real-life looks of a label or for that matter a package design.

Creative Edge says that the version 5.0 was developed following customers requests, especially in connection to modeling of shape and realism. The software firm had taken down the customer feedback during the iC3D v4.0 photorealism launch last year at the drupa printing equipment exhibition in Germany.

Creative Edge Software CEO Nick Gilmore said that while the previous major release was all about enhancing photorealism, the updates made with version 5.0 enable design professionals to gain an unmatched level of control over the shape and form of their packaging design.

Gilmore added: “The new features allow creatives to interpret and manipulate their designs, whether that is to improve naturalism, for example, or to emphasize a specific aspect of the product or even a particular brand value.”
