The Italian Wood Processing Machinery Sector Suffered a Major Setback Last Year

The Italian wood processing machinery sector suffered a major setback last year after business recovered in the years 2010 and 2011. According to an annual report for 2012, released by the industry association Acimall on 2 July, total production (including tools) dropped 7.5 % to €1.571bn. Italian woodworking machinery exports did not fall as much, declining 3.7 % to €1.231bn. Imports tumbled 16.5 % to €130m last year.
