Xpressdocs Expands Printing Capabilities with New HP Indigo Digital Presses

Xpressdocs Holdings, a provider of on-demand marketing solutions, announced expansion of its print infrastructure to leverage the latest in digital press technology from HP.

The HP Indigo 7800 and W7250 Digital Presses offer improved quality and productivity, advanced color management, while also helping to reduce waste and boost sustainability.

The press expansion supports the evolution of Xpressdocs' brand management and marketing platform by providing a broader base of substrates and variable data capabilities. This will allow the company to roll out exciting new products in the coming months in an effort to give customers more options than ever before.

The HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press provides automated on-press color management aided by an in-line spectrophotometer, helping ensure color consistency between presses to meet strict brand guidelines. With advanced digital print technology and a wider color gamut, Xpressdocs can now deliver prints with enhanced color vibrancy. Featuring the option to produce color jobs with 33 percent higher throughput,1 the HP Indigo W7250 Digital Press will help get customers' orders out the door even faster.

The new HP Indigo digital presses also bring advanced production efficiency to Xpressdocs' print operation with in-line finishing capabilities, and time-savings with newly incorporated automated processes. For example, the HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press does not require production downtime to manually reload paper. It has the ability to automatically transfer paper supply from one compartment to another. This acceleration in production will nearly double Xpressdocs' digital print productivity.

Xpressdocs CEO Eric Chandler said: "Our clients continue to increase the localization and personalization of their promotional efforts to meet the demands of their markets. The efficiency and increased scale realized through this expansion enables Xpressdocs to further support client needs, while maintaining the fastest turn times in the industry."

As a certified Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody business, Xpressdocs decidedly pursued these presses because they help reduce waste and boost sustainability, by enabling just-in-time print production in the exact quantities needed. HP Indigo digital presses also feature a self-sustaining imaging oil kit, helping to reduce waste by generating distilled imaging oil sufficient for the printing process. In addition, going from 12 print engines to just seven greatly reduces the electricity needed to power the presses.
