Depin Will Open a New Facility at The Port of Kalama

Manufacturer of wooden pallets and crates Depin will open a new facility at the Port of Kalama, US, in June.

The firm has taken 12,000ft2 on lease at the port, where it will also shift its headquarters from Salem, Oregon.

Depin owner Dan Bonebrake said: "We serve large customers in both Seattle and Portland markets so we were looking for the perfect middle location right on I-5 with room to grow.

"Not only does Port of Kalama offer exactly the kind of manufacturing and distribution facilities we need, but they are very business friendly and accommodating. Port staff has already proven they'll be a solid business partner."

The manufacturer expects to create 20 jobs at the facility where it will process eco-friendly cardboard-based corrugated crate called EcoCrate.

Depin supplies its produce to Ingersoll Rand, Fred Meyer/Kroger, Costco and General Dynamics, among others.

Located Southwest Washington on the Columbia River, the Port of Kalama houses 20 industries employing over 800 people.
