The New M-533 FG Additive for Formulating Food Grade Lubricants Was Launched by Cortec

Cortec has announced the launch of the new M-533 FG additive, which has been designed for formulating food grade lubricants.

The new additive, which is NSF HX-1 certified, is intended for use in petroleum and synthetic lubricants, greases and rust preventative fluids. It can also be used in food plants where incidental contact with food is expected.

M-533 FG's filterability and water resistance ensures that lubricants formulated with it containing Cortec's Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCI) will retain their inherent functionality while providing corrosion protection.

According to the US-based company, the additive is approved for use up to 10% if required and passes the ASTM D 665B rust test in white mineral oil and PAO base oils at 0.10-0.20% additive level.

M-533 complies with the Food and Drug Administration Regulation 21 CFR 178.3570 and is compatible with a wide range of additives and base stocks.
