Samsung Took The Wraps off The Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 Last Month

Last month Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5, a pair of mid- to low-range handsets that are expected to hit the market very soon.

Now, with the handsets still to hit retailers' shelves, the Samsung Galaxy A3 has popped up in the wild, staring in an early video hands-on courtesy of Italian site of HDblog.

The five-minute clip shows the A3 from multiple angles, comparing it with two other Samsung-branded smartphones, including the Galaxy Alpha, which was released as the South Korean giant’s first metal-framed number.

It also shows off the various new colour themes and backgrounds that come installed with the device.

The A3 is undoubtedly pretty, and its specs look fairly solid for something you'd expect to find at the lower end of the market. At 130.1 x 65.5 x 6.9mm and 110.3g, with a 4.5-inch display, it should fit very comfortably within your hand without skimping on screen size too much.

There’s also a 1.2GHz quad-core processor on board, as well as a pretty decent 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing snapper, 1 GB of RAM, a 1,900mAh battery, 16GB of internal storage (expandable via a microSD slot) and Android 4.4 KitKat.

"These devices make our advanced Galaxy experience even more accessible to young and trend conscious consumers," said JK Shin, the CEO of Samsung Electronics.
