Samsung Shipped a Staggering 665 Million Devices Over The Past 12 Months

Despite a recent slump in smartphone sales, Samsung shipped a staggering 665 million devices over the past 12 months, the company has confirmed.

Given that the Korean manufacturer has multiple fingers in multiple tech-related pies, it is unsurprising that it is one of the biggest manufacturers in the world.

However, the annual shipment figures, which include everything from smartphones and tablets to fridges and vacuum cleaners, via a mass of TVs, are almost incomprehensively high.

The impressive numbers, which relate to units shipped, not sold, were announced by Samsung’s President and CEO, BK Yoon during his CES 2015 keynote speech.

Looking ahead to the coming year, Mr. Yoon predicted that Samsung’s annual figures would rise further still.

“Last year, Samsung delivered more than 665 million products, and this number is set to increase,” he said.

One area Mr. Yoon has earmarked for growth is the company’s standing in the Internet of Things space.

“Expanding the devices in the IoT ecosystem and the components that power them is the first step in fulfilling the promise of the Internet of Things,” he stated.

“Samsung already has a broad range of IoT devices. We have already begun to unlock the value hidden in connected devices and all the everyday objects around us.”

Adding to the company’s ever-expanding product line, Samsung today announced a new range of high-end TVs, as well as a new SUHD content category.

Highlighting the company’s breadth of devices, unveiled alongside the new TVs was a robot vacuum cleaner and its Milk VR app platform.
