Milwaukee Tool Is Continuing to Expand Their M12 Line of Cordless Tools

Milwaukee Tool is continuing to expand their M12 Line of cordless tools with the introduction of the new 2416-22XC M12 Fuel 5/8-inch SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer. As noted, the new tool carries Milwaukee's "Fuel" branding, which means it also features their new Powerstate brushless motor technology.

The Powerstate brushless motor is something Milwaukee designed and built specifically for their power tools and it looks like their efforts are paying off. At only 3.9-pounds and only 10-inches in length, the 2416-22XC has the power to drill holes in concrete or masonry up to 5/8-inch in diameter. Yes, a 12-volt tool that can drill 5/8-inch holes in concrete and offers up to 6,200 BPM and up to 900 RPM.

On-board is a 2-mode dial that allows the tool to switch between rotary hammer mode and hammer-only mode. Though personally, I would have preferred a drill-only mode rather than a hammer-only mode.

We don't yet know what kind of runtime we can expect from the tool, but the kit does include the new Redlithium XC 4.0ah batteries that offer twice the runtime. The Redlink Plus system is also onboard, which is designed to optimize tool and battery performance. It will be interesting to see just what the M12 Fuel Rotary Hammer is capable of.
