EFI Introduces New Fiery XB DFE Platform for Production Inkjet Presses

Electronics for Imaging (EFI) has introduced new version of Fiery XB digital front end (DFE) platform for ultra-high-speed production inkjet presses.

EFI Fiery XB platform for the new DFE complies with native intelligent production data stream (IPDS) workflows, helping to deliver the performance, functionality and accuracy needed for high-volume transactional applications.

The platform can also be used for all variable data formats and languages, including PDF and PDF/VT.

The advanced EFI Fiery DFE allows users to use in brand colors and extended gamut applications up to seven colors.

It also helps to make changes at the job level for on-the-fly corrections and carry out late-stage color edits right at the DFE.

The DFE also helps users to manage single-pass printing across a wide variety of inkjet and toner presses,

Fiery DFE is said to meet the demanding requirements for performance, color and imaging, including advanced variable-data production printing, at speeds of up to 13,000 pages per minute.

Fiery DFE provides enhanced imaging accuracy on most of the substrates, including coated/uncoated or treated/nontreated.

In addition, it incorporates with any existing workflow and prepress software, including EFI’s extensive management information systems/enterprise resource planning (MIS/ERP) and web-to-print products.

UK-based direct mail firm First Move Marketing (FMM) has deployed Xerox IJ Print Server, which is supported by Fiery.

FMM Managing Director David Amor: “The Fiery server with the latest RIP technology provides us with the tools and capability to manage, process and run customer files containing a high percentage of variable text and superior-quality images.”
