Revisiting Favourite Inventor Moments of London Toy Fair 2015

From the launch of Skinny Sketcher to donuts with Crazy Cart's Ali Kermani, we revisit our favourite inventor moments of London Toy Fair 2015.

It’s the final day of Toy Fair 2015 and amid the show’s usual celebrity spotting and business card-swapping, the ToyNews team has been on the lookout for some great inventor moments.

And luckily for us and our increasingly bleary eyes (a general Toy Fair side effect) we haven’t had to look far.

Our first stop takes us to the Asobi stand, where Toy and Game Inventors Workshop success story Gillian Logan enjoyed a successful launch of her arts and crafts range, Skinny Sketcher.

Reaction to the line was positive from the off, and Logan already reports various interest from Toy Fair attendees (visitors and exhibitors) making for a ‘very enjoyable first show'.

Elsewhere, Crazy Cart inventor Ali Kermani left a lasting impression – and we dare say a number of tyre tracks – on the fair with his collection of speedy, spinning, ride-on drifters.

When we weren’t busy donuting the Re:creation stand, we took the chance to chat with Ali about his journey to success and asked him what advice he could offer the next generation of innovators. His responses can be read in this and next week’s Inventors Bulletin.

Now, regular readers of the Bulletin will no doubt remember the name Behrooz Shahriari. And if not, then perhaps the term hirsute, male pole-dancer rings a bell?

Flirting with the concept of contortionism, Behrooz arrived at this year’s show with his party game, In a Bind in tow and even delighted guests at the Alternative Toy Fair Party with a few impromptu rounds. Things seem to be moving forwards very nicely for Bez, and we dare say after his display at the party, he has gained himself a few extra followers.

And while at the show we've been having conversations centred on some new exciting developments in store for this year's Toy and Game Inventors Workshop. All top secret for now, but more on that in the upcoming weeks.

It has been fantastic catching up with those of you who have visited the show this year, dropped by our stand to say hello, or even took it upon yourselves to set up an impromptu demonstration of your game on an exhibitor's stand.

We're there again today so do pop by to stand E2 if you fancy a chat.
