Mespack to Showcase Flexible Packaging Solutions at Propak East Africa 2018 Event

Mespack is planning to showcase flexible packaging solutions at the Propak East Africa 2018 event scheduled to be held from 27 February to 1 March in Nairobi, Kenya.

The company specializing in the design and manufacture of machinery for the forming, filling and sealing of 4 sided sealed sachets, stick packs and stand-up pouches will showcase its flexible packaging solutions at Stand C1 at the event to be held from 27 February to 1 March in Nairobi, Kenya.

Kenya leads the global battle to promote sustainability. With an emergent middle class which, in recent years, has led to an increase in the demand for consumer goods, the African country is now proposing putting an end to the use of plastic bottles. Within this context, the solutions of Mespack, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of flexible packaging machinery for the forming, filling and sealing of 4 sidede sealed sachets, stick packs and stand-up pouches, will be on display at Propak East Africa, the region’s leading exhibition for the packaging, processing and plastics industry which, this year, will focus its efforts on combining sustainability and innovative packaging. The event is set to take place from 27 February to 1 March at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

“Flexible packaging allows for greater flexibility in packaging the same product in different formats suited to the preferences of each market while, at the same time, reducing the cost of storing and transporting the packaging material,” explains Santi Alberich, Marketing Director at Mespack. Thus, for example, all the bottles from several trucks fit onto a single reel of flexible packaging material, thereby reducing the environmental footprint.

In this regard, since its beginnings, Mespack has always striven to make its machines as efficient as possible, to ensure that waste and product deterioration are minimal for its customers. “Mespack’s flexible packaging machines guarantee 96% efficiency, a figure which can sometimes reach 98%,” underlines Alberich. And he adds: “These levels of efficiency help to reduce waste and product deterioration.”

In addition, Mespack’s Marketing Director recalls that the company “also attempts to optimize pneumatic and electrical consumption. Efficiency not only encompasses consumption but also the quality of the envelope and the precision of the dosing, ensuring that rejection is minimal in all regards.”

By attending Propak East Africa, Mespack will introduce its flexible packaging solutions to a market undergoing rapid development, which has already begun to switch from tub-type packaging and PET bottles to flexible solutions, especially for widely-consumed products such as margarine, juices and soups, an area in which Mespack has wide experience. “The doypack is in great demand in this area, given that this stand-up pouch is proving very popular in terms of consumption,” concludes Alberich.
