Two Major Projects Is Started by Chile's Cap for Increaseing The Volume of Sales

Chile's Grupo CAP will complete in the coming months the launch of two major projects that will significantly increase the volume of sales of the subsidiary CAP Mining, surpassing its current output of 12-18 million metric tons.

The expansion of production in Valley Guasco will add 2 million metric tons per year, while the North Black Hill mine will provide 4 million metric tons per year of additional capacity.

CAP Steel, meanwhile, is in a process of focusing its activities on long steel, mining and construction-sectors with the best return. Simultaneously, the company is adjusting its operational structure, employment and trade, to regain profitability within the next twelve months.

By announcing financial results for the first half of 2013, the CAP Group announced the progress of a number of major projects undertaken to continue to consolidate its leadership in iron ore mining in Chile, which accounts for 99 percent of CAP's EBITDA.

CAP has placed special emphasis on the growth of its mining to supply the increasing international demand for iron, while the steel business is promoting the strengthening and targeting their businesses more profitable and more projection, such as related markets the mining industry.
