Google to Launch Ad-Free Youtube Subscription

YouTube is set to launch a paid version of its video-sharing service called YouTube Red next week.

The new service charges subscribers 10-US dollars per month and allows them to skip ads to go directly to YouTube programming.

Paid subscribers will also be able to download videos to their mobile devices and have music playing in the background while using other mobile apps.

YouTube's paid version comes as streaming services like Hulu, Pandora, Spotify and TuneIn offer ad-free as a paid option as well.

At the same time, YouTube has unveiled YouTube Music, an app for music videos and songs to be launched later this year.

It allows subscribers to toggle between music videos or just audio only.
