Natuzzi Offered a Sneak Peek at Re-Vive in an Exclusive Preview Video

Il dolce far niente. Only the Italians could come up with a phrase that translates into the "sweetness of doing nothing." And at Natuzzi, a leather upholstery supplier founded in Italy in the 1970s, the phrase could well be one of the captions for a new Natuzzi product that will officially launch at the High Point Market.

In an exclusive preview video (see at bottom of page), Natuzzi offered a sneak peek at Re-Vive, a chair described by the company as "a completely new concept." The chair itself will not be unveiled until Friday, Oct. 18, for select dealers and guests and to all market attendees on Saturday, Oct. 19. To RSVP, click here.

In the Re-Vive video, Leonardo Hunnisett De Beer, the corporate retail manager for Natuzzi Group, labels the new chair as the first performance recliner. As cropped shots of Re-Vive flash on the screen against a backdrop of music, De Beer prompts viewers to consider the fine art of sitting.

"Sitting is usually seen as a passive mode of behavior.... When we sit, we don't sit still. What if a chair could make you conscious of sitting?" De Beer asks.

Details about Re-Vive, which has been in development for more than four years, are being carefully distributed by Natuzzi. Company officials said that the anticipation and build-up will be well worth the wait for market attendees, adding that Re-Vive is "not just a chair, but a concept."

"There is no agreed definition of what comfortable is," De Beer said. "What if the chair is conscious of the mode you're in, how you're feeling? With Re-Vive, nothing is going to be the same anymore."

Milan has long been considered the design capital of the furniture world by design aficionados in the industry. Natuzzi's release of Re-Vive, and its revolutionary construction and Italian ingenuity, is going to put High Point in the design spotlight during market.
